Planning Engineer Projects

JOB OBJECTIVE:

To provide support in schedule/cost management of projects enabling completion of project within approved baseline

Project Initiation & Planning

·         Establish project baselines (schedule, cost) together with respective Project Managers

·         Create agreed baselines in applicable software Primavera P6

·         Prepare project Progress S curve and cash flow

Project Schedule Monitoring & Control

·         Tracking and controlling schedule & milestones & escalate delays in completion of projects

·         Update Project S-Curves (Cost, Schedule)

·         Analyse delays in programme and recommend preventive/corrective actions enabling timely completion of projects

·         Recommend preventive/corrective actions enabling timely completion of projects

Reporting

·         Prepare management reports on regular basis

·         Prepare Plan Vs Actual comparison based on approved baseline and generate variance report

·         Carryout delay analysis such as Time impact analysis/ Window analysis

·         Assist in preparation of project management plan

·         Assist in preparation of project closeout reports

·         Project update reports

·         Project Update presentations

·         Projects Committee Reports

·         Board Presentations

·         Adhoc Reports

Coordination with Contractors and suppliers

·         Attend Project Kick-off meeting

·         Review and approve baseline programme

·         Monitoring and controlling contractors schedule

·         Review and analyse contractor’s Extension of time claims and propose recommendations

·         Prepare contractual letter/ correspondences

·         Attend progress meetings

Tender Process Management:

·         Support Tendering documentation

·         Monitor tender timelines based on the project baseline programme

·         Monitoring and reporting of Tender process

SAP support activities:

·         Handling Project system module in SAP

·         Creating Project definitions/ WBS elements

·         Creating Purchase requisition and LVPOs

·         Create Service entry sheets

Minimum Qualifications

·         Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Minimum Experience

·         5 to 8 years of relevant experience in Planning, scheduling, monitoring, and controlling.

·         Certified in Planning Software/ Primavera P6

·         Proficient in use of Planning softwares / Primavera P6 with min 5 years of Hands on experience

·         Experience in handling multiple projects simultaneously

·         Experience in carrying out delay analysis and reporting delays pertaining to programme of works
